Lead Pastor & First Lady

Upon graduating from Texas Bible College, where Rev. Roger Wood majored in Theology and Mrs. Kim Wood majored in Christian Education, the Woods moved to Charleston to serve at the United Pentecostal Tabernacle. After serving as Assistant Pastor, Outreach Directors, Personal Bible Study Directors, Transportation Coordinators, Lawn and Cleaning Maintenance Team Leaders, Youth Chorale Director, Christian School Supervisor and Secretary, and Children and Youth Education teachers over a twenty-one year time period, they accepted the lead pastoral position in the fall of 2007.

Rev. Wood, while serving as the Lead Pastor locally, has also served the United Pentecostal Church International as a member of the Illinois District Board. He is an ordained minister who is well respected both within the church and within our community. Having served in many of the various duties within the church, he has a grasp and understanding of what is required for the church to function and operate smoothly as a unified body and he leads with vision and passion.

Our First Lady, having a sense for order and organization, serves as the Administrative Director. She works with our team leaders in scheduling and planning; however, her main passion is serving as the Prayer and Worship Leader. There is nothing she desires more than to lead others into the presence of a holy God and there to teach them to develop a personal relationship with Him.

The Woods have one daughter, Allison, and one granddaughter, Rayana Alaya.
